I have a job interview at Google for Solutions Architect, so I’m logging the resources I am using to learn about Google Cloud and the Architect Certification.
Update March 15: The first interview was conducted over hangouts and was purely technical. The interviewer said that the interview was designed to test on a broad range of topics where they will ask more and more detailed questions until you don’t have the answer.
Update March 24: Passed the exam, it was quite tricky. LinuxAcademy’s courses helped but their sample questions are less difficult than the actual exam.
The interview was 45 minutes and started with ourselves giving quick introductions to each other. Then it went into technical questions about load balancing, pros and cons of different types of load balancing (NAT, HTTP, TCP), ACID, NoSQL vs SQL, HTTP headers, difference between HTTP 2.0/1.1, TCP slow start. The final 20 minutes was a coding exercise which I would rate on the easy end. It was doing some computations based off of a large log file.
Regardless of whether I make it to the next round, I’ll keep studying for the cert since the Google Cloud Platform is still fresh in my mind.
